Glink Release 8.6.0 Professional and Enterprise Editions available

This release is fully qualified on Windows 2016 Server and Windows 2019 Server. It has a new help in standard HTML format and adds support for TLS 1.1, TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3.

The Professional Edition is available for download and evaluation from our 'Resources' area. It can also be purchased on-line from our web-shop.


This is a significant release of Glink. It demonstrates once again G&R's continuing commitment to development on new hardware and operating system platforms and timely delivery of state of the art products to our customers.


It introduces:

  • Windows 2016 Server qualification

  • Windows 2019 Server qualification

  • Windows 10 qualification

  • New Help in HTML format

  • Support has been added for TLS 1.1, TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 (requires equivalent support in the Windows OS)

  • New script command FRDTEXT has been added to eliminate the 255-character limit for FRDLINE

  • New script variable $TURN indicates whether Glink has the turn (1 = turn, 0 = not turn)

  • Minor improvements and corrections


New Windows platforms


Windows 2016 Server, Windows 2019 Server and Windows 10 qualification

This release has been qualified on Windows 2016 Server, Windows 2019 Server and Windows 10 and is certified under the Microsoft "Windows 10 Compatible" logo program.


New Help

The help files for all components of Glink have been upgraded from the old Windows help format to the more standard HTML help (.chm files).


Secure connections

Support has been added for TLS 1.1, TLS 1.2 and TLS 1.3 (requires equivalent support in the Windows OS).


Script FRDTEXT command

A new FRDTEXT command has been added to eliminate the 255-character limit for FRDLINE.


Script $TURN

A $TURN variable indicates whether Glink has the turn (1 = turn, 0 = not turn)
